[ The last full moon did not go so well for her. Any small bit of digging can indicate that the full moon, in general, is a trying time for the "monsters" of the region. Liliana is determined to weather this one better than the last. Then again, what could be worse than literally dying? Even if she came out of it on the other end.
In some weird, pseudo-dead way.
The day started out normal enough. She's finding it more difficult to wake up in the morning and has taken the habit of spending the first half of the day rolling around in bed until she finds the energy to drag herself out. The fact that one of Chandra's kittens has somehow wiggled its way inside her bedroom despite the supposedly closed door is extra motivation. But the more the day drags on, the more restless she becomes.
So she drinks to calm her nerves--a great coping mechanism, obviously. Chandra can likely feel the anxiousness through their bond as well as the warm welcome of wine down the back of Liliana's throat as she finishes off the bottle. At least she still prefers to drink from the wine class.
Liliana shoos the kitten away with the toe of her boot as she walks out of the kitchen and into the foyer again. She's not pacing--she's. Getting her steps in. ]
[Chandra had been paying very, very close attention to the phases of the moon lately. Not for fear of herself, but more for Liliana's sake. and others, of course. Kaede's chimera change hadn't been fun, and nearly being forced to gut Fang hadn't been either.
Fuck this plane, she thought darkly as she pushed open the door to their house. The bond was making Liliana moody, and she'd come back from training early to check in on her partner. Stooping to pick up the kitten that scampers into the main hall to greet her, she eyes Liliana as she heads out of the kitchen.]
Feeling restless?
[She'd know the signs even without the bond. She's always restless.]
[ The tinge of irritation she sensed from her bond definitely wasn't helping her own anxiety--as if she wasn't already irritated enough. She taps her nails on her wine glass, five times exactly. They've become rather sturdy in the past few weeks, much stronger than they are normally. An odd and ironic side-effect from dying.
She can sense Chandra before she hears her, eyes flickering over to her housemate and the cat. ]
Your pet is very chatty.
[ They both know she couldn't care less about that, nor would it be enough to irk her, but deflecting concern is always her first reaction. At least Liliana is feeling normal enough for that. ]
[Chandra strokes the kitten's head a bit and it seems to calm down. Maybe the little enchantment she put on it to quell it's own restlessness will help some. Probably. But that's cheating.]
Weather's fine. Back to normal summer weather.
[She walks a little closer, head tilted to the side. Her eyes are not exactly 'concerned' but more 'curious']
Have you been getting enough food? I know you haven't been leaving, and that makes sense I guess. [She is more of a homebody.] But I'm not sure the state of the kitchen.
[ Not that she's particularly bothered by the cold at this point--it doesn't seem like the weather much affects her at all. She's been less interested in venturing out during the day, regardless, but having some things set the way she would prefer is a small condolence to an even smaller annoyance. She'll take it.
Still, she knows that Chandra's attempts at care and friendship come from a genuine place...as difficult as that can be for Liliana at times, she is. Trying. In her own way.
By being less prickly than normal. Most of the time.
But not today.
At the mention of food, Liliana gives a small groan and looks at the bottom of her empty glass. ]
If you're asking if there are dishes in the sink, the answer is "no". Though I wouldn't mind a little help.
[ Help meaning, you know, hired help. Although she's used to having that labor for free.
But Liliana did totally eat all of Chandra's crackers, so hopefully she won't mind seeing the cupboard woefully empty when she's feeling like a snack. ]
We're out of cheese.
[ She swirls her empty glass before turning her pacing back to the kitchen. Chandra can follow if she wants. ]
I'll ask around about a cleaning service. Though, did you happen to have any gems or gold on you when you woke up here? I had a couple of pouches, but we may have to stretch it.
[That's Planeswalking 101. Currency is valueless, but gems and gold? Always.]
And the cheese. Sure.
[Making her way around the big prep-table in the center, Chandra meanders to the icebox, fishing around in there for a container of juice. No wine, not after a sweat like she'd worked up.
Note to self, get more of this stuff. Limeade? Nissa would love it.]
Also, how are you feeling?
I know the moon's rising, and last time it did that, this kid Kaede went nuts and tried to tear my head off.
[Last month was one hell of a mess for a lot of people. And as the month gets colder there is a lot to clean up after the mist dissipated from the city. And part of that was Zack wondering what exactly happened between him and Chandra. He remembers some intensity, snarky comments and challenges and then...
Well, that. That kiss happened.]
Chandra?
[Time to reach out and find out exactly? Right? Ring ring, hello?]
[He's hardly close to home so it won't take him long to get there. He'll wait for her while leaning up against the wall of the building like a ...cool guy.]
[Kaede's voice returns to its more usual grumble, and she huffs a little.]
There's a pile of crap outside this lady's house that needs moving, and it's too big for me to move myself.
[Read: said old lady in the house kept fussing at her to get help and Kaede kept stubbornly digging in her heels and now they were at something of an impasse.
Granny cares, really. This was the same one with that petalwolf problem, and Kaede figured she at least owed her the help.]
hey so i almost made out with someone at the masquerade until she stopped me from making that mistake so i guess if you felt my heart jumping into my throat last week then there's your explanation
that explains that i'm still never gonna get used to it but i mean at least i'm kind of figuring it out?

[ Ursula's gift to Chandra; a charm depicting the asterism of Aeries. This ram isn't just a bauble, though, and has an enchantment that will greatly boost Chandra's flame magic for free! At least while the charge is active in the charm. When it's empty, it needs to be left under a star lit sky to recharge the cosmic battery within. ]

Voice, Early Novemberish Questing
Hey, Chandra. I'm--
[Wait, wait, back up. Have to greet someone, then be friendly, then ask them to do something. In that order.]
How are you?

so
i almost made out with someone at the masquerade until she stopped me from making that mistake
so i guess if you felt my heart jumping into my throat last week then there's your explanation
sorry about that
it was probably pretty weird
no subject
So.
That's okay.
I wondered what that was, but you seemed happy and okay, so I didn't say anything.
You probably got the same sense from me last month anyway.
no subject
i'm still never gonna get used to it but i mean
at least i'm kind of figuring it out?
gods
i don't even know if anything would've happened between us if i went through with it?
i'm pretty sure she's a Monster even though she calls herself a witch
by "us" i mean me and her and also me and you i guess
no subject
I figured out a way to mask the bond.
Or we'd have found out last month.
Whoops.
no subject
good to know
i don't think you'll need to show me how to do that anytime soon but
