that explains that i'm still never gonna get used to it but i mean at least i'm kind of figuring it out?
gods i don't even know if anything would've happened between us if i went through with it? i'm pretty sure she's a Monster even though she calls herself a witch
by "us" i mean me and her and also me and you i guess
i've been having more than enough weird feelings lately turning into whatever the hell that thing was watching my teeth stop fitting right on my face getting drunk and almost making out with Lancer what's a few more?
it's okay, Chandra, i promise i told Lancer this last month but it's kind of. 15 years too late for me to worry about feeling uncomfortable. you don't need to be that worried about me.
i know i know you keep saying it it's just not easy
maybe i'll get so drunk one day that i don't care about spilling my life story out to you or something like you don't have a better idea of it than anyone else here already
if i come over, i'm probably not heading back here tonight i don't think Entrapta would appreciate it if i came back that drunk if i can even walk after however much it takes
just i guess as a heads up that i would have to stay over i'm sure you hate the idea as much as i do
[she'll never get used to Chandra's home, but she's spent enough time chasing punks away from it that she knows how to get there by heart. maybe it's the Bond, or maybe she just learned that it's a safe place to go if she ever needs to, but it's probably just the Bond. involuntary information beamed into her brain by magic and definitely not anything else. she knocks on the door but doubts she'll have to wait very long.]
[the door opens a bit later, and Chandra waves cheerfully. She had actually been setting up a place for them, not hovering right at the door.]
Hey you.
[Gesturing, she waves Emerald into the living room. Which has a nice atmosphere going on, really. Liliana wanted a house fit for a Gothic aristocrat, and she got it...but right now it's well lit with a fire roaring in the fireplace (obviously), and two big bottles of red wine with cups resting on a table. Alongside cheese and crackers, and a packet of hard candies.]
It's getting chilly out, so I built up the fire a bit.
[it's not bad. it's not Emerald, which is why she doesn't come by often, but it's hard to deny that it's upscale as hell and better than Em herself probably deserves.]
You get cold? I thought that was something you didn't have to deal with. [it takes her until about mid-sentence to realize it's for her own benefit, and since the best thing she has by way of a coat is that brown sports jacket that she hasn't started wearing yet over the green mock turtleneck she has on, she nestles herself down close to the fire.]
So. You really just want me to get drunk and talk about my life. That's really the plan here.
[there's... so much of what's going on is for Emerald's benefit; she's not dumb and she knows that coincidences don't usually work in her favor. but Chandra isn't calling attention to it. she doesn't need Emerald to know that it's for her. that's different. in a good way, she thinks; there's feelings of warmth and safety coming through, slowly but surely.]
I only really do social drinking anyway. It's not really a good idea for me to drink alone. [because of a few things. but there was definitely a reason the only two people here who had or would see her really drunk were the people she trusted the most out of the ones she'd met so far.] And this is about as social as I'm gonna get, I guess. Hope you're ready for some bleak shit.
[Chandra plunks down, and begins pouring out a cup. To the brim.
And then another.]
I'm ready for whatever you have to tell me. I've...seen some pretty bleak shit myself. I'll spare you the gory details though. I don't want to give you nightmares.
[probably for the best. Emerald bites back the comment about how she already had nightmares and takes her glass, carefully raising it to her lips. taking a slow draw without waiting for any kind of toast or anything like that, she swallows and speaks. and she wants it to be more dramatic, but she's not there yet.]
I owe everything I am today to Cinder. And I know I told you that already, but... [her face twists, not at the wine but at what she's saying. how the words are still too hard to come by. and she exhales.]
Sorry. I don't think I can start yet. It's... too much and I'm thinking about it too much. We should talk about something else first.

So.
That's okay.
I wondered what that was, but you seemed happy and okay, so I didn't say anything.
You probably got the same sense from me last month anyway.

i'm still never gonna get used to it but i mean
at least i'm kind of figuring it out?
gods
i don't even know if anything would've happened between us if i went through with it?
i'm pretty sure she's a Monster even though she calls herself a witch
by "us" i mean me and her and also me and you i guess

I figured out a way to mask the bond.
Or we'd have found out last month.
Whoops.
no subject
good to know
i don't think you'll need to show me how to do that anytime soon but
yeah
wow
the fog?
no subject
The elf parts.
...Sorry.
no subject
i don't care if you have sex with anyone.
it's fine.
you can make your own choices.
no subject
I know some stuff happened before I got that block up.
That must have felt weird.
no subject
turning into whatever the hell that thing was
watching my teeth stop fitting right on my face
getting drunk and almost making out with Lancer
what's a few more?
no subject
But I don't ever want you feeling uncomfortable because of our bond.
Alex was not something I would have done in my right mind.

i told Lancer this last month but it's kind of. 15 years too late for me to worry about feeling uncomfortable.
you don't need to be that worried about me.

You matter to me, Em.
So I will worry.
no subject
i know you keep saying it
it's just not easy
maybe i'll get so drunk one day that i don't care about spilling my life story out to you or something
like you don't have a better idea of it than anyone else here already
no subject
I could use a drink.
no subject
you really want to hear all of that?
i guess you don't know what you're in for.
yeah, we'll see if i can drown my inhibitions like that, i guess.
no subject
Come over? I've got wine.
no subject
i don't think Entrapta would appreciate it if i came back that drunk
if i can even walk after however much it takes
just i guess as a heads up that i would have to stay over

So tragic.
no subject
i'm on my way.

It's me. Ready to do this, I guess.

[She shrugs. It really haaaad been more for Emerald, but she won't say that. She won't hurt a friend's pride.]
And if you want. I just wanted wine and could use the company. Drinking alone is pathetic, I think.
no subject
[there's... so much of what's going on is for Emerald's benefit; she's not dumb and she knows that coincidences don't usually work in her favor. but Chandra isn't calling attention to it. she doesn't need Emerald to know that it's for her. that's different. in a good way, she thinks; there's feelings of warmth and safety coming through, slowly but surely.]

[Chandra's eyes dance over Emerald for a moment.
What to talk about? It's hard. But she has at least one thing she can say.]
I like the teeth. They're cute.
